Claudia Winkleman has shocked fans by urging them NOT to watch her new BBC chat show, branding the debut episode ‘awful’ and suggesting, “Let’s pretend it never happened.”

The Traitors host, 54, recently launched The Claudia Winkleman Show, featuring a star-studded line-up of celebrity guests, including Jeff Goldblum, Jennifer Saunders, Tom Allen, and Vanessa Williams. Despite the impressive panel, the first episode failed to live up to expectations, with some viewers slamming it as “boring” and “dreadful.”

One online critic wrote: “The Claudia Winkleman Show was dreadful, boring, and Claudia can’t ask interesting questions. She only came alive when a dog was on. Stick to Crufts, Claudia.” Another fan echoed the sentiment, saying, “Very, very boring. Not a patch on Graham Norton’s show.”

In light of these reviews, Claudia was asked about the upcoming second episode while appearing on Heart Radio Breakfast. She responded with humor, joking that fans should avoid watching any more episodes, saying:

“I’m not having this conversation. The first one was so awful. Everyone needs to stop speaking and listen to aunty Claudia… I suggest people don’t watch [it]. There’s only a few more. Let’s pretend it never happened. You ever had that? People come round for dinner, you make something disgusting, and you go, ‘Never mind, thank you’ and give them a little handshake and you go, ‘Let’s wipe it.’ You know the machine in Men In Black? The end.”

Claudia’s candid comments about her own show come after she raved about hosting Crufts, saying it was “the best day of my life” – even better than her wedding day! Co-hosting with Clare Balding on Channel 4, Claudia was seen enjoying the event for the first time, even taking part in the dog display routines with the Southern Golden Retriever Society’s display team.
While Claudia struggled to keep up with the routine, she admitted it was an unforgettable experience. “I’m ready to be impressed,” she said. “Everybody else is amazing, this is David, he’s helped me, but Clare, thanks so much for letting me come, that’s all I want to say.”
Despite her playful struggle with the dogs, Claudia had nothing but praise for the group’s performance, stating: “Best day of my life. I quite liked my wedding, this is better.”
