Lorna Luxe, 43, has revealed that she’s considering having children after the tragic death of her husband, John, at 64. The social media influencer, who gained fame for her chic fashion and travel content, opened up about her decision to use her late husband’s stored sperm in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother, despite his passing.
In her first interview since John’s death, Lorna reflected on their life together, their decision not to have children, and how that choice has changed since his passing. She explained that she and John had tried to have children earlier in their marriage, but after unsuccessful attempts, they decided to focus on their careers. “Over the past couple of years, I’d say, ‘Do you think we should have done something about that?’” Lorna recalled. “Shall we go and get me checked out?”
However, she never imagined she would have to face these decisions alone. After John’s passing, Lorna began to seriously consider motherhood and even reached out to a fertility specialist about using John’s sperm. “I have big decisions to make alone now,” she said. “I’ve been asking about freezing my eggs, but now I’m thinking about going ahead with the sperm I have stored from John.”
Lorna admitted the decision to have children after John’s death was not one she had planned, but after the loss, she felt that it was something she wanted to do. “It’s a huge step, and it’s a difficult one. But I know I’m doing it because I want to carry on his legacy in a way,” she said.
She also expressed the emotional toll of navigating grief and making such life-changing decisions without her partner by her side. Lorna added, “It’s been incredibly tough, but I know that I have to keep going. I can’t let this hold me back.”
The couple, who married in New York, had been together for 16 years and lived a life of love and adventure. Despite their decision not to have children, Lorna is now moving forward, determined to give herself the family she and John had discussed.
Reflecting on her grief, Lorna shared, “I’m so lucky to have had the love we shared, but now it’s time to think about my future. I’m moving forward, even though it’s hard.”
After John’s passing, Lorna has also made sporadic appearances on social media, updating her followers on her wellbeing and how she’s coping. She revealed that one of the most touching things John left behind for her were notes with instructions on how to move forward, including lists of people she could or could not date in the future. “He was always thinking ahead, even at the end,” Lorna said, laughing through tears.
In addition to navigating grief and deciding to have children, Lorna continues to stay active in her career. She recently launched a fundraising fashion event in Manchester, and she has received an outpouring of support from her fans and friends. Despite the challenges, Lorna is determined to make the best of the situation. “This isn’t the future I expected, but I’m doing my best,” she explained.
