Jeremy Vine voiced his worries about mate Peter Andre’s most recent professional venture during Thursday’s edition of his Channel 5 programme.

On the show, Jeremy, 60, sat down with Peter, 53, to discuss his fresh album Legacy. Yet, the conversation turned to his latest cinematic endeavour Jafaican, which hit screens in 2025.

The film’s synopsis states: “Gazza, a small-time crook, urgently needs £35,000 for his gran’s care. When he hears a tip, he makes a risky plan.

“With just 21 days to master Jamaican culture, he aims to execute a daring fraud across London and Jamaica.”

Peter takes on the character of Gary, nicknamed Gazza, in the movie which also features Jamie Lomas and Sarah-Jane Crawford, reports the Mirror.

Jeremy remarked: “I want to ask you about the Jafaican. It was a movie, wasn’t it? I was watching it and basically you were wearing dreads and you had an accent.

“I was really worried because we’re friends. I was thinking, ‘Oh, don’t get cancelled.’ But you didn’t. People seemed to really enjoy it.”

Peter responded: “Yeah, I mean, in other territories, it did, Australia absolutely loved it. America, we’ve had some great response.

“It was a comedy. It was basically called Jafaican about this guy, what lengths he would go to to try and do something to save his nan. We’re now working on another film, which is the same concept, but not in Jamaica.”

Peter hinted: “So the next film we’re looking at doing something completely different. But it was great fun. And it’s acting, you know, it’s not real. That’s the whole point”, adding: “It’s a great film!”

Jeremy replied: “I was thinking, ‘Oh my goodness, you’re going into that zone, which is dangerous.’ But actually, I don’t know, people took it in the right spirit.”

Dropping hints about the follow-up film, Peter revealed it won’t be set in Jamaica, saying: “We’re going to go to, I’m going to be a different character. I could be Columbian.”

When questioned whether it would be titled Jafaican II, Peter admitted: “No, I should have thought that one through. How do you make a sequel without using the same name? It’s a very good point.”
