Zoe Ball’s daughter Nelly, 16, has reportedly moved in full-time with her father, Norman Cook, also known as Fatboy Slim, after reportedly feeling “left out” amid her mother’s new relationship. Zoe, 55, has been dating TV producer Mat Weekes in secret for over a year and is reportedly “all in” with the romance, which may have contributed to Nelly’s decision.
A source told Mail Online: “We have wondered, with Nelly not being around much, if it was something to do with the new man. Zoe is always ‘all in’ when a new man is on the scene and it’s possible Nelly felt left out or didn’t like it. The kids love their mum and she loves them, but Norman is more of a safe pair of hands and calm port in a storm.”
Zoe and Norman, who married in 1999 after meeting in Ibiza and divorced in 2016, share two children: Woody, 25, who lives and works in Bristol, and Nelly, who is completing her GCSEs in Sussex. Zoe confirmed on the Dig It podcast that Nelly prefers to base herself at her dad’s house: “All of her revision notes are on the wall at her dad’s and it’s just nice not having to move from house to house.”
The move comes as Zoe enjoys a stable relationship with Mat Weekes, a 49-year-old BAFTA-winning production designer behind Bizibot Productions, known for creating sets for shows like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here and Love Island. A source said: “Zoe has had a turbulent couple of years and it’s been one of the hardest times of her life. But she still believes in love and Mat has been a real source of strength for her. Despite the showbiz circles they work in, they live a quiet life together and that’s just how they like it.”
