Dua Lipa and Callum Turner Take a Moment of Calm Before Their £1Million Sicilian Wedding Extravaganza

Before the glittering chaos of their £1million wedding weekend kicked off, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner savoured a rare moment of peace on the sun-drenched balcony of their luxurious Sicilian hideaway.

The couple, who legally tied the knot in London just days ago, arrived in Palermo on Wednesday night via private jet, touching down shortly before 10:30pm. Their base for the three-day celebration? The lavish Villa Igiea Hotel, with its stunning sea-view terraces and suites costing £6,000 a night — a playground of luxury reserved exclusively for the newlyweds and their star-studded guests.

Dua, 30, kept it casual ahead of the big day, sporting a pale blue shirt over her bikini and a striped sarong, her dark hair tucked under a backwards cap. Callum, 36, embraced the Mediterranean sun in a brown shirt and shorts as the couple took in breathtaking views from their Donna Franca suite — described as “the crowning jewel” of the hotel, complete with spacious living areas, super king-sized bed, and a marble bathroom with walk-in shower and bathtub.

Breakfast on Thursday morning was a relaxed affair. According to a hotel source, Dua opted for a boiled egg while Callum went for an omelette, accompanied by a fresh fruit platter. “At one point Dua laughed and said, ‘Let’s party!’” the insider revealed. “The table erupted in cheers — the excitement is palpable.”

The couple spared no expense in planning their Sicilian dream. Guests are set to arrive throughout Thursday, with private jets touching down at Palermo airport and a fleet of blacked-out limos ferrying VIPs to villas and hotels across the area. Security is tight: more than 50 bodyguards have been drafted from Rome and London, roads around key venues have been closed, and temporary no-drone zones have been enforced.

Rumours are swirling about a mega yacht named Nympheas, moored nearby, which may host Thursday night’s festivities. On Friday, the couple reportedly paid 10,000 Euros to close the Galleria Moderna in Palermo for a private cocktail reception. Another 10,000 Euros secured Villa Valguanera in Bagheria for Saturday’s reception, where music legend Elton John is rumoured to be performing a set exclusively for the couple.

Locals have had mixed feelings about the lavish event. One café owner opposite Villa Valguanera said, “I’m delighted they are getting married, but it means a loss of business for the day. No one can reach us.” Meanwhile, a neighbour described being stopped by security while taking a shortcut past the villa: “Two men jumped out in black security shirts. They asked what I was doing. I said I lived here — they looked at me like I was paparazzi.”

With top names from the music world — including Elton John, Olivia Dean, Mark Ronson, and Charli XCX — expected to attend, insiders are already hailing Dua and Callum’s second wedding as the “showbiz wedding of the year.” Palermo itself is set to shine on the international stage, with Antonio Rini from the city’s tourism department calling the nuptials “a great honour” and a celebration that will “promote the city worldwide.”

From sun-soaked balcony moments to yacht parties and celebrity-packed receptions, Dua and Callum’s Sicilian wedding promises three days of glamour, music, and unforgettable memories — the kind of fairytale that will be remembered long after the Mediterranean sunsets fade.
