Beloved Coronation Street legend Bev Callard has given fans a deeply personal update from her hospital bed, revealing a new diagnosis and confirming she will soon begin radiotherapy in her ongoing fight against breast cancer.
The 69-year-old soap icon, who shot to fame as Liz McDonald in 1989, has been candid about her health journey since revealing her diagnosis earlier this year. Posting a heartfelt video on Instagram, Bev showed herself on a hospital bed as she walked fans through the dayâs gruelling tests and scans.
âSo far, blood pressure done⊠thatâs high, of course, because Iâm nervous,â she shared with a wry smile. âTheyâve taken blood, blood oxygen levels, and now theyâre seeing if I can fit in for a scan before the blood test results are ready, because those take about three hours.â
Bev had initially feared a blood clot but was relieved to learn the scans revealed something more commonâa cyst behind her knee. âI was panicked a little bit yesterday, but Iâm okay,â she reassured followers.
The actress also revealed her radiotherapy schedule, opening up about the intense treatment ahead: âIâll be having 10 days of radiotherapyâfive consecutive days, then a weekend off, then five more days. Iâm not sure when it starts yet.â
