Josie Gibson turned heads on This Morning as she showcased her noticeably slimmer figure in a vibrant yellow lace dress, marking another milestone in the television star’s deeply personal health journey.
The 41-year-old presenter looked radiant while hosting the ITV daytime show, with viewers quick to notice her newfound confidence following months of treatment and recovery for lipoedema—a chronic condition that causes an abnormal build-up of fat, most commonly in the legs and arms.
A Journey That Was Never Just About Weight
Josie has been remarkably open about the physical and emotional challenges of living with lipoedema. Earlier this year, she revealed she spent around £7,000 on specialist liposuction after years of struggling with painful fat deposits that refused to respond to diet or exercise.
Her treatment didn’t stop there.
The former Big Brother winner later underwent a brachioplasty—an arm lift procedure—to remove excess skin left after surgery. Josie shared that surgeons removed around 45 per cent of the tissue from her upper arms, describing the operation as life-changing rather than cosmetic.
Showing Her Recovery With Pride
Just weeks after surgery, Josie returned to social media to reveal the healing scars beneath her arms while promoting a wellness product.
Instead of hiding them, she chose to show her recovery honestly, receiving an outpouring of support from fans who praised her openness about living with lipoedema.
The scars became a symbol of everything she’d overcome.
A Lifestyle Focused on Healing
Alongside surgery, Josie has embraced a healthier lifestyle to support her recovery.
She regularly walks on her treadmill, completes home workouts, takes collagen and electrolyte supplements, and receives lymphatic drainage treatments to help manage her condition.
She has also experimented with wellness therapies, including NAD+ and glutathione injections and sessions in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, all aimed at supporting healing after surgery.
“I Just Wanted to Feel Comfortable”
Speaking candidly after her arm lift, Josie explained that her decision came from wanting to feel confident wearing sleeveless clothes during the summer.
She said living with lipoedema often felt like “constantly fighting your genetics,” adding that while the operation temporarily slowed her busy lifestyle, she experienced very little pain and has no regrets about going ahead with the procedure.
Unable to do even simple everyday tasks during recovery, she nevertheless described the surgery as one of the best decisions she had made.
Inspiring Others Through Honesty
Now back on This Morning, Josie appears happier and more confident than ever.
Her latest television appearance wasn’t simply about revealing a slimmer figure—it reflected months of determination, recovery, and resilience while navigating a chronic medical condition.
By sharing both the challenges and the victories, Josie continues to encourage others living with lipoedema to seek support, understand their condition, and remember that every recovery journey looks different.
