While Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) recovers from a life changing stroke, Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) is getting the blame… and someone is about to take justice into their own hands on Coronation Street.
It’s a teenage romance gone horribly wrong.
Betsy was rushed to hospital after suffering a serious stroke which left her unable to speak clearly. It was soon revealed that the youngster’s condition was due to experimenting with non-fatal strangulation during consensual sex with her boyfriend, Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne).
Recriminations flew and Dylan found himself being treated like a violent criminal who had ruined Betsy’s life by her family and friends.

Now it seems one of them is about to make Dylan pay with a dose of Coronation Street justice, when the troubled teen is assaulted by a mystery attacker
Off the top of my head, I can think of three suspects with a strong motive for wanting to see Dylan punished. Let’s start with protective Mama Bear Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers).
Furious, Corrie’s resident detective laid the responsibility for her daughter’s injuries squarely at Dylan’s door, gave him a verbal eviscerating in front of his dad Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) before reporting the young lad to the police.

As far as suspects go, she’s definitely in the running. But let’s not forget Dylan’s best mate and partner in crime Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey).
Serving time in a Young Offenders’ Institute together, these two are usually thick as thieves but what happened to Betsy has almost caused them to come to blows. Terrified of the legal consequences of causing lasting damage to Betsy, Dylan initially went into full on-denial and desperately tried to blame Brody, falsely accusing him of sleeping with Betsy and therefore, causing her injuries.
Brody was not about to take this lying down and cornered Dylan in the street, refusing to accept his lies until his best friend finally broke down under all the guilt. Taking back his false allegations, Dylan visited Betsy and finally took responsibility for his part in this terrible accident. However, it’s possible that ‘sorry’ is just not enough for Brody…

It might not be enough for Betsy’s best friend Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) either. Raised by a far-right extremist, Lauren knows all too well what its like to be gaslit and coerced into making choices you are not comfortable with. That’s why throughout her support of Betsy, she’d made it quite clear that she thinks Dylan deserved to be behind bars and has been gently pressuring her to press charges.
Lauren cannot accept Betsy’s decision not to hold Dylan responsible and insists that what he did was sexual abuse. Would Lauren ever take the law into her own hands and get ‘justice’ on behalf of her best mate?

That’s the burning question that will be answered in upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, when an attack on Dylan leads to the finger pointing at the wrong person.
Betsy confides in Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) that she’d like to talk to Dylan but knows how Lisa will react. So Ryan summons Dylan for a face to face conversation with his girlfriend.

As Betsy tries to reassure him that she doesn’t blame him for her condition, they’re interrupted by the arrival of Lisa. How will Lisa react?

Later, Lauren and Brody visit Betsy, who is struggling to speak. Horrified to heart that Dylan called round, Lauren insists to Brody that Dylan needs to be held accountable.

With Lauren’s words ringing in his head, Brody then confronts Dylan in the café, ordering him to stay away from Betsy. Dylan counters that Brody is just jealous because Betsy never showed interest in him. Cue the inevitable testosterone fest as the lads square up to each other, forcing Nina (Mollie Gallagher) to intervene.
Later, in the precinct, Nina finds Dylan unconscious. When Dylan wakes up, will he tell who attacked him?
Later on the Street, Sean confronts Brody and accuses him of attacking Dylan.

Is Dylan telling the truth? Is Sean barking up the wrong tree? And if Brody didn’t attack Dylan… who did?
