Dr. Leonard “Lenny” Hochstein and his practice, North Miami Beach Surgical Center, are being sued by three former patients for malpractice and negligence.
In recently filed court documents, the women have accused the former Real Housewives of Miami star and ex-husband of Lisa Hochstein, 44, of leaving them with severe complications and damages after undergoing numerous surgeries, including breast augmentations, lifts, and liposuction.
In a report from PEOPLE, it was noted that the lawsuits had been filed against Lenny and his surgery center earlier this month by the law firm Morgan & Morgan. Lenny first opened his surgery center in 1998.
One woman, 46, underwent a tummy tuck, liposuction, fat grafting, and a breast lift with implants in May 2025. After being discharged that same day, she claimed to have developed “worsening symptoms” such as abdominal tightness and pain, and swelling and discoloration to one of her incisions.
After seeking help at a “wound-care center” in California in June 2025, she allegedly learned she was experiencing fluid buildup and dead tissue. From there, she suffered through “painful and invasive wound management” due to the “scarring” and “deformity.”
Another woman, who underwent a breast augmentation in May 2025, said that she wasn’t informed that a mesh material would be used in an “off-label manner” during the surgery and “that such use lacked FDA approval for breast surgery.”
She also said that after informing Lenny that a surgical drain had become dislodged, he recorded a “change in breast position” and confirmed a revision was needed. However, per the court documents, “no corrective intervention was undertaken.”
Months later, the woman went to another center in New York, where she reported “breast pain, droopy breasts, implant rippling, nipple and areola concerns and asymmetry.” But because she was advised against additional surgeries due to the complications, she was left with “permanent…distortion [and] pain.”
A third woman who received a breast augmentation and lift from Lenny in March 2022 claimed she experienced “breast asymmetry, cleavage distortion, and early symmastia,” a complication that leads the breast to come together in the middle of the chest.
Following a second surgery in April 2023, she suffered “significant pain” and “swelling” and had excess fluid drained that same month. She is still experiencing “persistent breast deformity” and “chronic pain.”
After the filing of the lawsuits, Morgan & Morgan founder John Morgan and plaintiff attorney Jack Cook shared a statement with PEOPLE, which read, “When injuries like these occur, ones that involve intimate parts of the body tied directly to a person’s identity, it creates an added layer of emotional damage. Every one of these patients has suffered, and continues to suffer, emotional harm from the sense that the trust between surgeon and patient was broken.”
In recent years, Lenny has faced numerous lawsuits, including a $50,000 case in 2025, which accused him of a botched plastic surgery procedure, and another in 2022, which claimed he was guilty of malpractice following an abdominoplasty and breast augmentation surgery.
