Alan Carr Becomes a Baron After Buying £3.25 Million Scottish Castle — And He’s Ready for His ‘Turret Era’! 🏰👑

Alan Carr has revealed that he’s now a baron after purchasing a £3.25 million castle in Scotland, confirming that he has the rights to the Barony of Ayton title. The comedian, 49, shared his excitement on Staying Relevant podcast, joking that he’s entering his “turret era” and planning to create his own tartan.

The Barony of Ayton, which dates back to 1324, was available for purchase alongside the sprawling estate. Carr, inspired by his time on Celebrity Traitors, opened up about his desire for a castle, saying, “I’ve always wanted a castle. I’m a baron. I’m going to get my own tartan.”

A Dream Home with Big Plans

The estate, which boasts 16 bedrooms, 160 acres of gardens, and even a miniature railway, is set to become a luxury hotel and spa. Alan has signed a seven-figure deal with Disney+ to film a series documenting the renovation process, with plans to turn the centuries-old castle into a vibrant home and business. However, a meeting with the residents to discuss the grand plans was postponed due to the overwhelming interest.

Carr, who split from his husband Paul Drayton in 2022 after 13 years, also joked about possibly getting a “nice man” to join him at the castle. He added that he felt lonely ahead of his 50th birthday and wanted the castle to become a place filled with animals, perhaps even reintroducing wolves to the ecosystem.

New Show in the Works

In his new Disney+ series, Castle Man, Carr will document his journey renovating the castle into a livable space. The show is produced by Expectation, the same company behind Clarkson’s Farm, and promises to bring the same charm and wit that Carr is known for.

The idea of a castle, a new beginning, and a touch of animal-filled whimsy has struck a chord with fans, and they can’t wait to see how Alan’s transformation unfolds on-screen.
