After 24 long years, the beloved snooker-themed game show Big Break is making a sensational return to the BBC! Hosted by none other than Paddy McGuinness and seven-time world snooker champion Stephen Hendry, the show is sure to bring excitement and nostalgia back to our screens.

Originally aired on the BBC from 1991 to 2002, Big Break featured three teams of contestants, each paired with a professional snooker player. The show combined trivia with trick shots, creating an unforgettable mix of entertainment and skill. The new, “re-imagined” version of the show will air on BBC Two and will coincide with the network’s snooker coverage.

Paddy McGuinness, 52, is thrilled to be part of the revival. “I’m absolutely delighted to be a part of Big Break. It’s one of those shows everyone knows and loves, so hosting it alongside snooker legend Stephen Hendry will be something special. Bring it on!”

Stephen Hendry, 57, is equally excited. “Big Break was a unique mix of trick shots and great entertainment, and I can’t wait to be back at the table, bringing this incredible show to a whole new audience. Who knows, we might even inspire the next generation of snooker players!”

The show’s previous host, Jim Davidson, 72, made waves with his controversial style in the ‘90s, but in the wake of John Virgo’s passing in February, Jim paid a heartfelt tribute, remembering the snooker legend who had been part of the show’s original magic.

At its peak, Big Break attracted nearly 14 million viewers and ran for 10 successful series before its cancellation in 2002 due to declining popularity and competition from other Saturday night shows. But now, Big Break is back, and with McGuinness and Hendry leading the charge, it’s poised for a glorious comeback!
