‘Completely Disagree!’ Viewers Hit Back After Divisive Britain’s Got Talent Audition Sparks Early Backlash

The new season of Britain’s Got Talent is barely underway — and already one audition has set social media alight.
Saturday night’s episode (February 28) delivered another round of try-outs, but a single performance quickly became the most talked-about moment of the night, splitting opinion between the judges in the studio and viewers watching from home.

A New Series, a New Dynamic
The latest run of the ITV hit kicked off with a refreshed judging panel, as KSI returned full-time, replacing Bruno Tonioli. He was joined by familiar faces Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, with Ant and Dec back hosting the show.
But it wasn’t the panel shake-up grabbing headlines — it was one act that left fans sharply divided.Simon Cowell smiling on Britain's Got Talent Simon was very impressed (Credit: ITV)

Judges Say Yes — Viewers Say No
Australian freestyle rap duo MacShane & Delby travelled more than 30 hours to audition, telling the panel they were chasing “the best three minutes of our lives.”
Instead of a rehearsed routine, the pair opted for a risky approach: asking judges and audience members to hold up random objects, which they then used as inspiration to create lyrics on the spot.
The gamble appeared to pay off — at least in the studio.

‘Dreadful’, ‘Chaotic’ — Fans React
At home, however, the reaction was far less forgiving.
Viewers flooded social media with criticism, branding the performance “dreadful”, “chaotic”, and “all over the place”. One unimpressed fan wrote:

“I’ve heard an eight-year-old freestyle better than this.”

Another added bluntly:

“Completely disagree with the judges.”

For some, it was a baffling start to the night — especially given the enthusiastic response from the panel.

Not Everyone Was Against It
Still, the act wasn’t without defenders.
A number of viewers argued the duo’s style was “right up KSI’s street”, while others praised the originality and even suggested the pair deserved a Golden Buzzer moment.

A Sign of Things to Come
Love it or loathe it, MacShane & Delby did enough to secure the four Yeses needed to move forward — and their audition has already done what every BGT act hopes for: get people talking.
With auditions still rolling and opinions already clashing, it’s clear this series of Britain’s Got Talent is shaping up to be one of its most debated yet.
