They’ve been together for two decades, but Matt and Emma Willis admit one big change turned their world upside down — and made them better than ever.

The showbiz couple, who first began dating in 2004 before marrying in 2008, are now proud parents to three children. And in a heartfelt interview last summer, the pair revealed how becoming parents completely transformed them.
A Life-Changing Chapter
Appearing on the Nearly Parents podcast with hosts Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo — who were expecting their first child at the time — Emma and Matt reflected on their journey into parenthood.
Their first child, Isabelle, was born in June 2009, followed by Ace in November 2011, and their youngest, Trixie, in May 2016.

“The minute we had kids, it’s like his [Matt’s] best mate had arrived,” Emma said fondly. “He just gets down on their level — and he’s [bleep]ing phenomenal with them.”
As she spoke, Emma’s voice cracked and she waved her hands to stop herself from crying. Matt, too, appeared visibly moved.
Talking about the impact of raising children, Emma added: “It will make you the best version of yourself.”
“The Best Possible Tough”
Matt admitted: “It’s a massive [bleep]ing adjustment,” prompting Emma to agree: “It’s tough. But the best possible tough.”
The couple didn’t shy away from acknowledging the challenges of parenting but made it clear the rewards far outweighed the struggles.
Matt’s 13-Year Parenting Rule
Earlier this year, Matt shared the personal rule he’s followed for more than a decade to balance fatherhood with a demanding career.
“Thirteen years ago, I decided I can’t be away for more than three weeks,” he told Hello!. “It’s just too much for the kids. So that’s the one thing I’ve stuck to for the last 13 years.”
The Busted singer added: “Even if it means coming back for a day or two and then heading out again, I will never be away for more than three weeks.”
Matt and Emma’s emotional honesty struck a chord with fans, showing that even in the glitz of showbiz, the realities of family life — the joy, the challenges, and the sacrifices — remain universal.
