Gino D’Acampo’s stunning Hertfordshire mansion has quietly disappeared from the property market after months of reportedly failing to attract a buyer.
The celebrity chef, who has owned the impressive Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse in Hoddesdon for more than seven years, had originally listed the property for £4.2 million last summer. However, after interest failed to materialise, the asking price was dramatically reduced to £2.15 million.
Now, the seven-bedroom home has been withdrawn from sale altogether.
According to reports, Gino is hoping to relocate to Australia, but finding a buyer willing to meet his expectations has proved more difficult than anticipated.
A source told the Daily Mail: “It’s clear he has not been able to find a buyer who will pay what he wants for it, despite Hoddesdon being a really upmarket and trendy area.”
The elegant home certainly has no shortage of luxury features. Set behind private grounds, the Georgian property offers seven bedrooms, six bathrooms and more than 4,700 square feet of living space. It also boasts beautifully landscaped formal gardens, grand reception rooms and a wealth of original period details.
The property’s listing described it as a sympathetically restored home that combines historic charm with modern luxury. Original fireplaces feature in eight rooms, while soaring ceilings, ornate cornicing and large sash windows fill the house with natural light.
Gino, who became a household name after winning I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2009, went on to enjoy a hugely successful television career with popular cooking, travel and daytime shows, including regular appearances on This Morning.
For now, however, his dream move appears to be on hold as one of Hertfordshire’s most eye-catching celebrity homes waits for the right buyer.
