Scarlett Moffatt Shares Heartbreaking Family Loss as Fiancé Scott Dobinson Mourns the Death of His Mother

Scarlett Moffatt has shared devastating personal news, revealing that her fiancé Scott Dobinson’s beloved mother, Janice, has sadly passed away.

The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner, 35, announced the heartbreaking loss in an emotional Instagram tribute, describing herself as “heartbroken” for Scott and his family during what she called an incredibly painful time.

“My heart is broken for Scott and all of his family at the loss of his mam Janice,” Scarlett wrote.

Paying tribute to the woman she described as one of the kindest people she had ever known, Scarlett thanked Janice for welcoming her into the family with warmth and unconditional love from the very beginning.

“You were the best Nanna to Jude, the kindest mother-in-law and one of the loveliest people I’ve ever known,” she wrote.

The television personality became especially emotional as she reflected on the future, admitting she is heartbroken that Janice will never get the chance to meet her second grandson.

“I’m so upset that you won’t get to meet your second grandson, but I know you will be watching over us all. I’ll forever be grateful for all the love, kindness and warmth you showed me, and especially for the love you gave Jude.”

Scarlett also praised Janice for the family she raised, writing: “You raised true gentlemen in both your boys, and that says everything about the incredible woman you were.”

She ended the touching message with a final farewell: “We will miss you more than words can say. Sleep peacefully, Janice, our Nan Jan.”

The heartbreaking news comes during what should have been one of the happiest periods for Scarlett and Scott. The couple, who have been together since 2018, are preparing to welcome their second child later this year.

Already proud parents to three-year-old Jude, Scarlett announced her pregnancy in April with a joyful family video, revealing that Jude is thrilled to become a big brother.

The couple later confirmed they are expecting another baby boy. Speaking about the exciting news, Scarlett admitted she had secretly hoped Jude would have a younger brother to grow up with.

“Of course it would’ve been wonderful to have had a girl—a healthy baby is all that matters—but my preference was a boy, to give Jude a brother,” she said. “I’m just so happy for him. He’s got someone to share his life with now.”

The pregnancy carries even greater significance for the family after Scarlett previously opened up about the difficult four-year fertility journey she and Scott endured before welcoming Jude in June 2023.

She has also spoken honestly about the challenges of her current pregnancy, revealing that her first trimester was far from easy. Despite appearing radiant in recent photos, Scarlett admitted she battled sickness, migraines and hot-and-cold flushes while continuing to work.

“The first trimester was HELL,” she confessed, explaining that she often had to cope with morning sickness while filming television projects.

As Scarlett and Scott prepare to welcome their growing family, they are now also grieving the loss of a much-loved mother and grandmother whose kindness clearly left a lasting impression on everyone around her.

While the months ahead will undoubtedly be filled with mixed emotions, Scarlett’s heartfelt tribute makes it clear that Janice’s love and memory will remain an important part of their family’s story for years to come.
