After years of heartbreak and setbacks, Houston ABC13 anchor Mayra Moreno has announced the arrival of her first child, a baby boy, following a long and emotional IVF journey. The TV anchor shared the joyous news on social media, expressing gratitude and relief as she introduced her newborn to the world.
In an emotional Instagram post, Moreno wrote: “Life the last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind and scary but now it feels complete and we are safe! Thank you Lord Jesus! We have a BOY!!!!!!”
Moreno had previously opened up to her followers about her struggles with infertility and the decision to pursue in-vitro fertilization (IVF) with her husband. After years of trying to conceive, setbacks, and emotional challenges, the couple’s journey to parenthood culminated in the long-awaited birth of their son.
Reflecting on the difficult journey, Moreno shared in November 2025: “In the midst of uncertainty, we clung to faith and hope,” highlighting the difficult process involving shots, bruises, and delays. She celebrated the day she had once prayed for, thankful to finally experience the joy of motherhood.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations from colleagues, including fellow ABC13 anchor Samica Knight, who shared her excitement with the message: “He’s here! He’s here! My little nephew is here! Congratulations to my sweet sister ABC13-Mayra Moreno and her hubby!”
