Emily MacDonagh, the wife of Peter Andre, has finally spoken out about what it’s really like to help raise Katie Price’s children — just weeks before Peter himself stunned fans with a bombshell statement about a court-ordered parenting arrangement.

Emily, who married Peter in 2015, has long been stepmum to Princess and Junior, the two children he shares with ex-wife Katie. But while Peter has been vocal about protecting his kids, Emily has only recently shared her side of the story, revealing how she approaches parenting children who are not biologically her own.

Katie and Peter, who divorced in 2009, share daughter Princess, 17, and son Junior, 20. Since the split, Peter remarried Emily, a doctor, and together they have three children: Amelia, 11, Theo, 8, and baby Arabella, who just turned one.

Katie, meanwhile, went on to have two more children — Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10 — with ex-husband Kieran Hayler, whom she separated from in 2021. Before her relationship with Peter, Katie had her eldest son Harvey, 23, with former footballer Dwight Yorke.

Peter Andre’s explosive statement

On August 14, Peter Andre broke his silence in a dramatic overnight statement, saying he could no longer stay quiet about his parenting battles with Katie Price.

“For 16 years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones,” he wrote. “But staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.”

He revealed that Princess and Junior had been in his full care since 2018, citing “well-documented reasons” and concerns for their safety.

“In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children,” he said.

Peter also pointed out that in both 2011 and 2015, courts found that Katie had made false claims, forcing her to pay damages and issue apologies. He added: “Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.”

Katie Price’s response: ‘She will no longer be bullied’

Katie’s team quickly responded, making it clear she was determined not to get dragged back into old battles.

A rep for Katie said: “Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation. This was in the past and she doesn’t feel the need to bring up tit-for-tat comments. But more importantly, she’s dealing with this the right way and it’s now in her lawyers’ hands. Kate will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was.”

Emily MacDonagh on being stepmum to Princess and Junior

Just weeks earlier, Emily had offered a rare glimpse into her life as a stepmother on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast.

“I’m not their mum, and that’s something I always have to make sure I tread carefully with,” she admitted. “I always see it — maybe a bit more like being a big sister. I always try and give them guidance, but I wouldn’t overstep that.”

Emily explained that she tries to treat Princess and Junior the same as she does her own children, though she admitted her parenting style is “quite strict.”

“I always try and be the same. I’m quite strict though, on my kids. That’s what I would say to the older kids. It’s lucky there’s an age gap, you know? Because then you guys don’t need to worry about silly rules I have — like screen time and stuff like that. I’m like, you guys can be exempt because you’re older.”

Her comments painted a picture of someone who respects boundaries but also embraces the role of guiding influence in the children’s lives — all while balancing her own family with Peter.
