“Historically, soap stars [have] not been allowed to do panto…” he said.
Ben added further clarification, explaining:
“While you’re under contract, we haven’t been able to do them.”
Jack then revealed that the situation has now changed, allowing actors more freedom to pursue additional creative opportunities.
“I think they’re just opening up more avenues for people to go and work, really, which is great,” he explained.
The actor also confirmed that his absence from Coronation Street would only be temporary, with a short rehearsal period and limited stage run.
“Two weeks I’ve got and then I’m on for about three weeks, I think. I think it’s about a three-week run,” Jack explained.
