Katie Knowles, 35, has bravely opened up about the traumatic abuse she endured, revealing that she was raped by her father for years. In a moving video shared with her followers, Katie spoke out about the impact this had on her life and how she has worked through it with therapy.
The wife of TV presenter Nick Knowles, 63, shared the powerful video where she discussed women’s safety and the need for society to take action against domestic violence and sexual abuse. “I was raped by my dad for years, years and years,” Katie said in the emotional video, adding that she had never previously spoken about it publicly, except to close friends and family.
Katie opened up about how her father’s abuse led to long-term struggles, saying, “It’s not all men, but it is men. Men commit the majority of domestic violence and sexual abuse. In my case, it was a man. It’s almost always someone that you know – a family member, partner, or ex-partner.”
She also revealed how she feels constantly on edge in a world where women are often preyed upon, stating, “It’s a terrifying world sometimes to think being a woman is like this.” Katie described how even walking back to her car from the gym, she always fears being watched or approached.
Katie received an outpouring of support from her followers who praised her for sharing her story and raising awareness of these vital issues. She has two children from a previous relationship, and her husband, Nick, has four children from previous marriages.
Katie’s journey with Nick began in 2021, and after a whirlwind romance, the couple married in a lavish ceremony in Essex last year. Despite the difficult moments in her past, Katie’s strength has shone through as she continues to advocate for change.
