Katie Price was visibly emotional as she paid tribute to her mother at the London launch of her new Sky documentary Katie Price: Nothing to Hide. The former glamour model wiped away tears during the Q&A, thanking her mum Amy Price for attending despite her ongoing health struggles.
“She only got out of hospital five days ago, after being in there for weeks,” Katie shared, her voice breaking. “And the fact you’re here looking gorgeous…” She paused, waved her hand to hold back tears, as the audience applauded both women for their courage.
Amy, 73, has been living with terminal lung disease Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) since 2017, a condition that causes irreversible scarring of the lungs, making it difficult to breathe. Despite the diagnosis and a recent hospital stay, Amy looked radiant in a white-and-blue floral dress, proudly posing alongside her daughter on the red carpet.
Other family members joined the heartwarming night, including Katie’s dad and her sister Sophie, who co-hosts The Katie Price Show podcast. Sophie shared glimpses of the event on social media, describing it as “an amazing night.”
Earlier this year, Katie had opened up on Good Morning Britain about her mother’s health, revealing that Amy “really wasn’t well” following a hospitalisation in March due to an infection.
The special screening allowed fans and the press to witness a deeply personal side of Katie, as she balanced celebration of her documentary with the reality of her family’s health challenges.
Katie’s new series promises to reveal never-before-seen footage and candid reflections on her life, cementing her reputation as one of Britain’s most enduring and open celebrity figures.
