Kelly Ripa had fans buzzing after she teased some “baby news” on Live! — but instead of a new arrival, the big announcement was about her youngest “baby,” Joaquin.
The TV host proudly revealed, “Our newborn baby is graduating in two weeks!” before clarifying that she was talking about her and Mark Consuelos’ youngest son.
Joaquin, the couple’s third child, is officially graduating from the University of Michigan. Ripa admitted the milestone feels bittersweet, confessing their family is “not ready to leave Ann Arbor yet.” She even joked that they’ve been begging him to stay longer by going to grad school.
Mark Consuelos couldn’t resist teasing his wife, quipping, “Once Joaquin graduates, you can go to school — and he won’t be embarrassed having his mom in class.” Ripa laughed at the idea, even wondering what subject she might study or if she could become an adjunct professor.
This milestone brought back emotional memories from 2021, when the couple first dropped Joaquin off at college. Ripa recalled, “We dropped him off at school and gave him a hug — it was actually brutally painful… really hard.”
Joaquin is the youngest of the Ripa–Consuelos children, joining older siblings Michael and Lola. Now, with their “baby” all grown up, it’s clear the family is entering a brand-new chapter — one that has fans both celebrating and tearing up alongside them.
