Kerry Katona has opened up about the heart-wrenching moment she was forced to sign a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order for her mother, Sue, who had been rushed to the hospital and slipped into unconsciousness. The Atomic Kitten star, 45, candidly admitted that she’s still struggling to process the traumatic experience, revealing she now feels “traumatised” and even “needs therapy.”

In a tearful Instagram update, Kerry explained that after the doctors asked her to sign the DNR, she feared her mother might not pull through. “It was horrific,” she recalled. “I thought that’s it, my mum’s gone, her mind’s gone, she’s gone.”

Sue eventually regained consciousness after 24 hours, but Kerry described her mother as “a different person,” adding, “That wasn’t my mum.” Despite the emotional toll, Kerry assured fans that Sue is now recovering, though they are still unsure of the cause of her condition. Kerry also reflected on how the ordeal left her questioning her own mortality, especially after her own suspected stroke earlier this month.

Kerry shared how the entire experience “drains you” and confessed, “I feel like I’ve aged about 50 years” over the past few days. She had to miss several work commitments, including a hospital appointment, and was still dealing with the aftereffects of her own health scare.

The reality star also opened up about her difficult childhood, which involved a tumultuous relationship with her mother, who struggled with mental health issues and addiction. Despite their troubled past, Kerry has always defended her mother, urging fans not to send hate on social media, stating that Sue is “a much older lady now.”
