Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash seem to have it all: a beautiful family, millions in the bank, a luxurious mansion, and a flow of television work. But behind the scenes, their seemingly perfect life may not be all it appears.

Despite having a combined wealth of £12 million, tensions are rising due to a significant disparity in the couple’s finances. Stacey, 36, has made a savvy decision to keep their finances separate, and it’s clear why. While their Tudor-style home, Pickle Cottage, is worth £1.2 million and owned solely in Stacey’s name, her wealth has grown dramatically. In 2025, her empire was valued at £10 million, up from £7.4 million the previous year. Joe, on the other hand, contributes much less, with his wealth estimated at just £2 million.

Stacey’s journey to success began when she appeared on The X Factor at 19, and her career took off after winning I’m A Celebrity in 2010. She has since built an empire, with lucrative deals from brands like Asda, Jet2, and Primark. Stacey also owns a third of the fast-growing beauty brand, Rehab, and runs her own entertainment company, Keymap Entertainment.
Joe, however, hasn’t experienced the same success. While he has appeared on reality TV shows and briefly had a role in EastEnders, his career hasn’t taken off in the same way. His past financial troubles, including two bankruptcies, have added fuel to the fire. Last year, he admitted to being bad with money, saying, “I was chucking it away on stuff I didn’t need.” His more recent attempts to make money, such as promoting products through TikTok, have been met with mockery, including Stacey teasing him for his efforts.
Despite her substantial earnings, Stacey has always been cautious with money. She admitted on her reality show, “I always have, in the back of my mind: tomorrow you could have nothing, so be careful today.”
Tensions between the couple have been brewing, and it’s clear that their financial disparity plays a part in the strain. The couple’s decision to keep their finances separate was made early on to ensure Joe was contributing. Stacey, who is careful with her money, is in control of their finances and insists on splitting everything 50/50. It’s a way for her to protect herself and ensure Joe pays his share.
While Stacey continues to thrive in her career, Joe is focusing on building a fishing lake and glamping pods at Pickle Cottage as his biggest solo venture. It’s a risky move, but one that could help secure his own financial future without relying on Stacey.
Tensions have already been visible on their BBC documentary series, where they allowed cameras to capture their relationship counseling sessions. Recently, Stacey was spotted without her wedding ring, further fueling speculation about their marriage, which has now been revealed to be not legally binding.
Sources close to the couple suggest Joe is determined to prove he’s not useless and is working hard to show that he’s contributing in his own way. However, with Stacey’s overwhelming success and constant financial growth, it’s clear that their relationship is under pressure.
