❤️ Travis Kelce’s Quiet Legacy: The Kids, the Community — and the Charity Win That Meant Everything

Travis Kelce Supporters Rally Around His Charity Work as He Wins Nationwide Fan Vote (Exclusive)While the football world debates Travis Kelce’s future on the field, something far more personal just unfolded behind the scenes.

During the January 7 episode of his New Heights podcast, the 36-year-old tight end revealed he had won the Nationwide Charity Challenge fan vote — a powerful show of public support that came at an emotional moment in his career.

The win triggers a $35,000 donation from Nationwide to the Kansas City charity closest to his heart: Operation Breakthrough’s Ignition Lab — a program Kelce personally launched in 2021 to help teens aged 14–18 gain real-world job skills in culinary arts, engineering, automotive tech and more.

“We’ve been doing this since the beginning of my career,” Kelce said as he shared throwback photos with kids he’s mentored over the years.
“To see them grow into high schoolers… that’s everything.”

Travis Kelce🌱 Not a PR Move — A Lifelong Mission

Kelce’s foundation, 87 & Running, has spent over a decade serving underserved youth — but recent headlines questioned how some expenses were reported in tax filings.

A source close to Kelce told PEOPLE:

“The filings didn’t tell the full story. Travis has been the primary funder since day one. Program costs were lumped together instead of itemized, which distorted the numbers.”

The source added that the foundation has already committed $800,000 to community programs over the next three years, meaning that — when fully accounted for — more than 80% of funds are going directly to charitable impact.

The reporting structure has since been updated.

Travis Kelce🏆 A Man of the Year — On and Off the Field

Just weeks ago, Kelce was nominated for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, the league’s most prestigious honor for community leadership.

The Chiefs shared a video tribute showing him talking about his childhood in Cleveland Heights:

“It didn’t matter where you came from. I was taught to be friendly, to lend a helping hand.”

On February 6, Kelce will find out if he wins the award. But in the eyes of thousands of fans — and the kids whose lives he’s changed — the title already fits.
