Lee Andrews is reportedly boasting that his estranged wife Katie Price will hand over cash for his release, according to a fellow inmate who has witnessed the businessman’s “strange behaviour” behind bars.
The 43-year-old, who claims billionaire status, was imprisoned last month at Al Awir Central Prison in Dubai over fraud allegations. Katie, 48, has since disclosed that a six-figure sum is required for his bail, with Andrews allegedly urging her to launch a GoFundMe campaign to cover £140,000.
Now, an inmate has lifted the lid on Andrews’ latest antics. The source told The Sun that Lee bragged about being arrested during an arms deal near Abu Dhabi and claimed he was kept in a dark room for days without daylight. The inmate added: “He’s a strange man. He was bragging Katie was going to give him cash, but no one knows if she has or not… He gives off this wheeler-dealer bravado rather than swagger.”
Katie flew to Dubai last week after learning Andrews had been arrested for fraud. She had initially been quoted a £6,500 fee to secure his release, only to be later informed that the figure had risen to £140,000 due to another pending property case. She refused to pay, insisting: “No-one will do that for you, Lee. Everyone hates you.”
Friends of Katie have expressed concern for her mental health and the wellbeing of her children, noting that she has been spending excessive time away from her family. During a podcast, her sister Sophie called Andrews a “d**khead” and warned Katie not to trust him again. Katie herself stated: “This is real, this is real life; this is my life… I’m doing what I want to do, and I’m out here in Dubai to help Lee. Some may not like my choices, but I’m not living for everyone else.”
Andrews’ history with deceit has not gone unnoticed. Two ex-partners, Crystal Janke and Alana Percival, publicly cautioned Katie against giving him money, highlighting past incidents where he allegedly defrauded them. Katie also met with ex Dina Taji, who warned her about Lee’s manipulative tactics firsthand.
Despite all the warnings, Katie confirmed she will not be providing any financial support to Andrews. The couple’s turbulent relationship has been a public spectacle, but it seems that even after years of drama, Katie remains determined to navigate the situation on her terms.
